NEXT STEPS
ENCOUNTER JESUS Jesus came to restore this world so that we can live life to the fullest in relationship with the God of the universe. An authentic encounter with the life, death, and Spirit of Jesus empowers us on our journey toward spiritual, intellectual, volitional, and emotional renewal. Luke 19:10 | John 10:10 | Acts 1:8 | 2 Thess 2:13
IDENTIFY YOURSELF When you've authentically encountered Jesus, the next step is to make a public declaration of your commitment to Him through baptism. In baptism, a person is immersed into and raised out of water to symbolize the fact that they have died to their old way of living and have been restored to a new life under Jesus’ leadership.
Acts 8:12 | Acts 16:31-33 | Acts 18:8 | Rom 6:4
INVITE OTHERS When we've authentically encountered Jesus, we can’t resist inviting others to do the same. We help people encounter Jesus by connecting them relationally to the body of believers (the church) and introducing them spiritually to the life, death, and Spirit of Jesus.
John 1:40-51 | John 4:1-54
ADVANCE YOUR RELATIONSHIP. When we've authentically encountered Jesus, we hunger to develop our relationship with Him by doing life together with other Christ followers and deepen our understanding of Christ’s life and priorities in the context of community.
Acts 2:41-47
IMPACT THE COMMUNITY. When we've authentically encountered Jesus, we possess a deep desire to love and serve others just like Jesus did. We join forces with other believers within the church body to make Christ known in tangible ways by using our gifts, passions, and abilities. Rom 12:4-11 | 1 Cor 12:4-31 | Matt 28:19-20
